Helen Cowl Karsner died Sunday, August 11, 2002, at Methodist Hospital.

 

She was born May 12, 1909, in Duluth, MN. Helen was an extremely kind and devoted family member and friend. Her amiable disposition, her graceful manner, and her caring ways will be greatly missed by all. She was an active person in Duluth as a Life Member of Hadassah, sisterhood member of Adas Israel Congregation, and a saleswoman at Oreck's Department Store. Her love of music and singing brought special joy to people.

 

She is preceded in death by husband Jack; parents Ethel and Solomon Cowl; brothers Victor, Ezekiel and Carl Cowl; sisters Bessie and Sadie Levine, Florence Heilligman and Mary Cohn.

 

Helen is survived by a son Bruce; daughter and son-in-law, SuRae and Larry Pomrantz; grandchildren David and Stephanie, and many, many, loving nieces and nephews.

 

FUNERAL SERVICES:Wednesday, 9:30 AM, at Sholom Home West, St. Louis Park. Burial following at the Shaari Tzedek Cemetery in Duluth. Memorials are preferred to the Dr. Moses and Bernice Cowl Gordon Music Fund at Sholom Home West, or the donor's favorite charity, SHIVA at Sholom Home West (Wed. 7:30 PM and Thurs. 7 PM). The family gratefully thanks the Sholom Home West staff for their excellent care and kindness to Helen.
